Losing weight too fast?

I've been losing a lot of weight recently, not like one pound a day, but fairly too quick in my opinion. I was just wondering really if it's true that if you lose weight too quick and jump back onto eating like a normal person that you will gain weight really easy. I'm afraid that I may deprived my body of too little calories and threw into a store fat kind of thing. Is there a way to ease back into regular eating without gaining weight?

Thanks for any responses

I think I may be posting in the wrong board. But I still think this is related to weight loss as I want to lose weight but also eat without killing myself :P

Re: Losing weight too fast?

My personal opinion from my own experience is that if you lose weight fast, you probably will also gain it back fast. The best thing to do is to settle in on a calorie number that maintains your weight and just stick with it.

Re: Losing weight too fast?

In my opinion the best way to keep the weight off is to start an exercise program you can live with and do it regularly. If you increase your metabolism by doing regular strength training your body will begin to even burn calories while you are doing nothing. The cardio types of exercise (brisk walking, jogging, running, biking, etc.) burn a lot of calories and also increase your metabolism. As far as eating is concerned, generally if you lose weight by doing anything you are not going to be able to continue doing for the rest of your life you are eventually going to gain it back, whether it is quickly or slowly.

Re: Losing weight too fast?

I agree that exercise is also important, but it is also just as difficult to maintain as a diet plan.
