I am having a case of severe diet bafflement.

I'm a low-carb dieter. I've used the diet twice before. The first time, I lost 125 lbs in about 4 1/2 months. The second time, I lost an additional 60 in about two months. Those first two times, I was a certifiable geek. I rarely left the house and sat in front of a computer (hey, that was my job!) pretty much 24/7.

I just had a baby about six months ago, so I figured that to lose the baby weight, I would go on my diet again. Usually, on the low-carb, I lose twenty or so pounds in the first two weeks and then about a pound a day after that. I have a very active job that requires a lot of heavy lifting and lots and lots of walking. So, when I started back on the diet and... after two weeks, had gained two pounds... I'm kinda baffled. And very frustrated.

There are only three differences between now and when I dieted the last two times. Firstly, I'm more active. Second, I've ditched diet sodas and things like "CarbCountdown" milk products -- anything with sugar or artificial flavors and preservatives in it. And third, I hadn't added fish to the diet this time around.

An anyone offer any insight? I've temporarily gone off the diet (as of yesterday, I'll be picking it up again on Thursday) mainly because it's not helping me lose weight right now and I actually -like- the taste of food. I want to lose weight, and I need to figure out why it's not working this time around.
