700 - 800 calorie a day deficit?

Im 21, 5'5, 117/118 lbs.

I usually consume 700 - 900 calories a day, without starving myself. I eat small meals throughout the day. My BMR is 1374. I do cardio 5 days a week & burn 250 - 350 calories. This puts me in a daily deficit of 700 -800 calories a day. Is this too much? Should I up my calorie intake (don't know how I can) or reduce exercise?

Thanks

I'm not sure but I believe you are eating 800 to 900 calories a day You may think you're not hungry but your body is starving that's way too low & you're setting yourself up for a very slow metabolism in the future. You should really be eating around 1500 if you're trying to lose weight & 1800 if you're not Just because we're women doesn't mean we have to eat like birds it doesn't make us more feminine to starve ourselves. So eat up

I agree with Abadoo 700-900 calories is starving yourself and you are setting yourself up for slow metabolism. You have the right idea with eating small meals throughout the day but your meals are clearly too small. Re-evaluate what you are eating and add plenty more to it-healthy foods of course.

I agree with the others. You are eating waaay too little in a day. 1000-1200is the LOWEST amount of calories you should consume in a day and the fact you are exercising means you should be eating more. you are already on the lower end of the weight range for your height, why are you trying to create such a deficit? how much less could you possibly want to weigh??

I am not trying to create a deficit. I'm a vegetarian & try to eat healthy. I eat mostly fruits & vegetables. After a big bowl of broccoli im good for a few hours & don't want to force extra food down when im stuffed. Im ok w/ my weight, just trying to tone up & be healthy. I am worried about the major calorie deficit & was wondering a) With such a deficit shouldn't I weigh less? & b) What harm the deficit is causing to my body?
