| Re: Talking to a loved one about their weight
Telling someone who has excess weight that they are "fat" is a waste of time. Does everyone think that someone who is fat or obese suddenly woke up one day and thought "oh my God, I am fat!". Hell no. It's the first thing you think about when you get up and the last thing you think about when you lay your head on your pillow.
Unfortunately, it's like anything else. If the person doesn't want to do it for themselves it won't happen. Nobody can guilt someone into quitting drinking, drugs, overeating, etc.
You could take the approach of changing the diet in your house subtly, such as a low-glycemic diet and trying to get your hubby to take a walk with you at night after dinner, etc. If they think you are nagging, they will tune out!
