I actually do a moderately low carb diet. I still eat them, but I eat less of them and feel GREAT. I don't get bloated as often with less breads and pastas. I try to eat whole wheat products when I do eat them. I like to eat a lot of salads with grilled chicken or turkey. For quick lunches I can take to work, I buy South Beach brand salads, wraps, or pizzas. They have a lot more protein and are low in carbs than something like Lean Cusine and are great for when you don't have time to make something.
For exercise, I recommend any kind of cardio. I used to use the elliptical machine, but I now run on the treadmill. Just go for something you enjoy so you will stick with it! You can even do dancing, tae bo, walk outside, anything like that. Then try to lift some light weights (5 or 10 lbs will do it). I do different arm exercises, squats, lunges, and kickbacks. Then I do crunches and other ab exercises. I used to do about half an hour of exercise but now I go for about one hour just because I enjoy it and was getting very good at what I used to do and had to make it more challenging. Just do what you can! Every bit counts, even if it's a quick 15 or 20 minute workout.
I used the "10 Day Hoodia Diet" pills. They were inexpensive and worked to get rid of water weight. I took less than the package said... I took one before breakfast (with a full glass of water) and one before lunch (with water again). They would give me too much energy to take it in the evening, and when I took 3 at a time like the instructions said, I felt too jittery and got nauseous! To be honest, I think you can get similar results drinking diet green tea. I'd just get the bottled kind and it would help me get rid of water weight and seemed to keep me full a bit longer! Plus I didn't ever get jittery from drinking green tea.
Good luck! It sounds like you don't have too much to lose and are close to where you want to be! That is how I was... just a size or so bigger than I wanted to be and I just wanted to get back to how I was. You can do it!
