I ain't no cook, Need all the help I can get.

I'm a pitiful cook but need to lose some weight, 10-15 pounds would make me so happy. I guess one way is to make the right food and make it interesting...so.....if you were going to buy a couple appliances for your kitchen to use what would you get.? I"m thinking veggie steamer or something like that.
