I just fit into a size 24 jeans!

I know it's still huge but it's the smallest I've been in a long time. I used to wear a 32! And to be honest, for a while I couldn't even fit into the size 32 jeans and I had to wear sweats. But yay! 24! That's like almost into the "normal fat lady" sizes. haha I just wish the scale number would show weight loss more than it does. The measuring tape is great and all but I really want that damn scale number to go down. LOL

Re: I just fit into a size 24 jeans!

Exercise could stimulate muscle growth, which could cause your weight to not go down as much (or even increase) even as you get smaller (muscle is more dense than fat). But muscle weight is good weight, since muscle makes you stronger and muscle burns more calories even at rest.

Re: I just fit into a size 24 jeans!

I am 5 ft and 1/2 inch and Size 26 at most of the stores. But it sucks to be asian because everybody around my height weighs about 90 to 100. And I weight about 110 and my family constantly calls me fat. Sucks, I do not know how to lose 10 extra pounds. I have lost 9 pounds in 6 months after going back to the gym, but then I am not able to lose any weight for the past month. Seems like I am stuck with 110

Your current weight is considered to be at the low end of the "healthy" weight range for your height. Losing 10 pounds would be brushing into the "underweight" range, which is not healthy.

It is still possible that your body fat percentage is higher than it should be, though at your low weight, that would be more due to lack of muscle mass. The remedy for that situation is to gain muscle through strength exercises. Added muscle will likely improve health and increase metabolism even at rest, burning more fat.

I agree that you sound perfectly healthy! I am guessing you mean that you wear a Size 26 waist measurement, not a size 26 itself. I used to have an Asian roommate about your size and she said her family also picked at her about her weight because she put on weight after moving to the United States. She didn't exercise at all and drank a LOT, so I'm sure that could be why the weight gain happened. Sounds like you've also got a pretty tough family. If you are exercising and are healthy, maybe 110 is what you SHOULD weigh. You have to remember to be happy with how you are and not worry if someone else says something (I know it's hard though!). I wouldn't say MOST women weigh 90 to 100 at your height.. that is probably what many women WISH to be, but that's on the low end of the weight range for your height. Just try to focus on being healthy and gaining some confidence Best of luck to you!
