Bread on a Diet!?!

I feel the need to do my duty to fellow dieters and carb avoiders out there.. my friend told me about a product called mountain bread that she's eating on her diet - me being the cynic, I was doubtfull that anything DIET could taste good! But I was proven wrong! She made us a delicious lasagne yesterday but used this flat bread instead of pasta sheets - it was yummy!

Apparently it's really low calories and cholsterol free etc.
Have a few recipes, if you want them you can PM me.

Re: Bread on a Diet!?!

That sounds great! Where do you buy this mountain bread? I'd be interested in trying it made in lasagna, as you mentioned. I don't eat pasta because whole wheat pasta upsets my stomach and I avoid the white pastas.

You also might want to check out Ezekiel bread. It's a flourless bread and low on the glycemic index. I have the Five Factor Diet books and Harley Pasternak (the author) is big on less processed foods and making sure to eat only the GOOD carbs and not overdo it! He suggests making open sandwiches with only one slice of bread. I buy an Ezekiel bread loaf with sesame seeds around the crust and it's very good. The english muffins and prophet's bread (like pitas) are amazing! I am hooked on this bread! It's much more satisfying and filling, so one piece is enough for me. I buy it in the frozen section of my grocery store (they have a section of breads, including specialty breads such as this one) or from Whole Foods.
