gastric bypass surgery

My doctor has asked me to do the lap band procedure, I am diabetic type 2 and I am 100 pounds over weight with high cholesterol and my blood sugars are at 215 daily. My family history is not good all died of heart disease at the age of 42 and I am now 43...it is very important I do a weight loss surgery soon I have let this go for 3 years and tried to loose weight on my own unsuccessfully! What surgery would most benefit me do you think with my current health condition? My doctor ask me 3 years ago to do the gastric bypass but I am afraid to do this most invassive procedure so I opted the lap band procedure what do you think I should do?

Re: gastric bypass surgery

May I suggest the MiniGastric Bypass. Endoscopically performed, and reversible if required. You can search on the name, and the main doctor, Rutledge that perfected the surgery.
