| Re: Are the calories I eat good for me?
Hello! I think your calorie range sounds very reasonable. 1200 calories is definitely at the low end and you should never go under that amount. Many people need more calories than 1200, so your range sounds healthy. I probably ate around that much when I was losing weight and I am your height as well. Now that I'm maintaining, I eat around 1800 calories a day, and I do work out often. Just make sure you are eating plenty of healthy foods and getting enough nutrients. Meals should be balanced with different food groups. For example, you'll want to make sure you are eatnig enough protein. I know so many people who don't eat enough protein and have a difficult time losing weight. I try to cut back on sweets (other than fruit) and processed foods, pasta, and breads. I eat plenty of fruits and veggies, lean meat, and healthy sources of carbs. After I stopped eating so many lean cuisines, I got into better shape! I think I was also having too much sodium in the past and would hold on to extra water weight.
Good luck to you! 10 pounds per month sounds reasonable, but even 5 per month is a good amount. I usually aim for 1-2 pounds of weight loss per week to avoid losing it too quickly.
