My Weight Loss
3 weeks ago i weighed in at 281 lbs, 6ft 1 and im 21 years old. This meant that i was in the obese weight scale.
I'd had enough of eating crap junk food, having man boobs, not fitting in the clothes i like as not many designer brands do a decent XXL and just really wanted a life style change for the better.
After a weekend of eating crap like Dominos pizzas and allsorts of other junk i decided enough was enough and i was gonna start shedding some pounds and hopefully get to around 16 stone by may-june next year... leaving plenty of time as we all know miricales dont work over night.
I now work out every day during the week and sometimes on the weekend. This is a massive change considering the only exercise i used to get was either at work or maybe down the pub at weekend!
Doing around half an hour of cardio and around 45mins-1hour of weights each session. These are very intense work outs, giving 110% on everything and making sure i leave the gym in sore as hell.
I changed my diet a hell of alot. At first i thought it'd be hard as im so used to eating junk... fast food, frozen meals, sweets ect.. but i've found it really easy and actually enjoy it alot more!
My old diet on a typical day would be something like:
Breakfast: 2 bacon and egg sandwhiches
Lunch: Pie or microwave burger from the machine at work or Mcdonalds
Dinner: southern fried chicken strips(frozen), chips and beans
Snacks: about 3 packs of crisps, 3 chocolate bars
Drinks: i'd say just under 2 litres of fizzy drink a day
Now a typical day on my new diet:
Breakfast: small bowl of cereal 35g with 125ml ss milk
Lunch: 1 oven cooked small chicken breast with around 100g brocili
Dinner: 2 fresh haddock fillets and around 200g of carrots
Drinks: i have a protein shake after i work out, no fat and no carbs just a very high protein shake and i drink around 2 litres or more of water through the day.
My calorie intake has gone from around 3000+ to around 1500 per day.
Taking good advice and cutting my carbs intake and upping the protein seems to have been the most benificial. RDA of protein is 55g for me, now my intake is around 200-250g per day whilst RDA for carbs is 300g, i now consume around 150g.
I'd never go on one of these Slim Fast diets and all the others like them. Think about it logically your never going to be eating those horrible meals that cost a fortune for the rest of your life are you? i think these are the cause of yoyo dieting. Start eating proper food that you can cook yourself, control the portion size and the acutal contents of what your eating.
Anyway just thought i'd share my progress.
After 3 weeks of completely chaning my lifestyle i now weigh 267 lbs. So thats nearly 1 stone in fat i've lost and i can really see muscles starting to take shape, especially round my shoulders neck and arms.
I hope more people can try what im doing instead of sticking to poor high carb diets or using meds.
