Is this ok?

If I eat 3 meals of around 250 calories and one snack of about 100 calories, and then have around four drinks at night, will my metabolism be slowed more than someone consuming 1200 calories through food? Will it be slowed a lot? Oh, and I never go more than 5 hours without food, usually four though. Thanks for your help <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

YES! It will be slowed...trust me! Been there done that! You're better off to eat the 1200 calories AND have the drinks than the low number of calories you mention.

Increase your exercise routine and you will increase your metabolism!! By increasing your activity, you will burn more calories and therefore you can eat 1200 calories and lose weight. Make sure the 1200 calories includes all the nutrients needed to create a healthy body.

Hi 550lady,

when you are talking about 4 drinks a night is it alcohol? If so, I never new alcohol to be something you could consume if you are trying to lose weight. I could be wrong...but I have always been told that alcoholic beverages were really high in calories....

Alcohol also dehydrates your body, so you need to drastically increase your water intake if you're drinking 4 drinks a day. And you'd be much better off to eliminate it, or cut down if possible.
