weight loss patches

I was just wondering if anyone has tried weight loss patches. I recently found an ad I ripped out of a magazine about them and I'm thinking about ordering them. Of course the ad says money-back gurantee and it's about $35 for a 30-day supply. The two main ingredients in them are guarinine(probably spelled wrong) and something that starts with an F (it's a type of sea weed). Has anyone ever tried anything like this at all? You wear the patches on your skin and they continuosly release the ingredients to make you lose weight. Even if they don't work, does anyone think there is any dangerous side effects to this? Thanks.

Re: weight loss patches

Hi~ the patches are listed under "rip-offs" in places
like Quackwatch. They aren't dangerous because they contain natural substances, at least the one you mentioned. I believe there are others out there. There is a patch for seasickness that is effective, so the diet industry thought they could try the patch too, but they neglect to tell you to diet and exercise, or if they do, they'll say you didn't diet and exercise enough. I've heard horror stories about the money back guarantee, too. I've tried all kinds of things over the years, believe me. But this one sounds like you could have a protein drink, and get more benefit (plus it would fill your stomach better) <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/biggrin.gif">
