I disagree..Heck, I lost 9 1/2 lbs in one week so I tend not to agree with you. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Gosh Michael,

I think none of us here know everything or we would not be here trying to help each other. Just as you asked for support and answers, others do to. It is best to take the responses you and others received, gather information and make a decision on what works for you.

PudgePot,

You keep doing what works for you <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">

Re: Decaf Coffee and Crystal Lite prevent weight loss

Why does one have to lose the maximum possible weight? Who cares if someone loses 5 pounds a week and you lose 1. 1 still equals 52 pounds in a year, and most people would be dam happy about that.

I have been known to drink large quantities of Crystal lite, etc.. and had great success with weight-loss. Of course, my success had nothing to do directly with Crystal lite, but if it keeps me from drinking back a few hundred calories in a day, then it's helpfull. As with any substitue food/drink, you have to be carefull and not let it become your crutch.

Re: Decaf Coffee and Crystal Lite prevent weight loss

I have lost 38 pounds since January. I drink lot's and I mean lot's of crystal light... hasn't seemed to stunt my weight loss. Everyone is a little different. I have lost 1.5 - 2 pounds a week which is healthy and effective. I would prefer to do it this way instead of 5 pounds a week and then gain back 10. Just my 2 cents though.

I drink a crapload of diet sodas, and it has never slowed my weight loss. Some people say they have trouble with it, but I don't know.

Re: Decaf Coffee and Crystal Lite prevent weight loss

Just to chime in, I've lost over forty pounds and kept it off over four years, and have consumed two to four diet snapple iced teas almost every day. sometimes water too, sometimes diet coke. but more iced tea than anything.

don't think i could have lost the weight and maintained the loss without the fake sweets.

Re: Decaf Coffee and Crystal Lite prevent weight loss

For 3 months on the Atkin's diet, i was losing weight steadily and only drank water. Than last month, i started to drink Crystal Lite and Diet Coke (only diet cola that i like the taste of) regularly, and i am still losing weight at the same progress.

Re: Decaf Coffee and Crystal Lite prevent weight loss

I was an avid diet coke-head. My Reproductive Endocrinologist advised me to stay away from artificial sweeteners because they do slow down weight loss and encourage insulin resistance. She was so adamant about it that she said she would rather me drink a regular coke than a diet coke. She feels that strongly about the sweeteners.

My weight loss increased more than 50% when I eliminated the artificial sweeteners. When I crave a soda, I drink a seltzer water.

I'm sure everyone would agree that it's much more healthy to drink water than put all those chemicals in our bodies - it can't hurt to decrease the amount of artificial sweeteners any of us ingest.

Just something to think about.
