weight loss help

I am currently about 20 pounds overweight. I am carrying a lot of excess weight in my stomach area as well as in other areas. I want to lose this weight as quickly as possible. Does anyone have suggestions as far as what kind of a meal plan I should consider? Does it help to skip a meal in an effort to lose weight? I have not been exercising much lately and I know that has contributed to the problem. I have started to run every day as well as do situps to reduce the overall weight. What else can I do in order to lose the weight?

Do not skip a meal, eating is important, just make sure that you are eating the right things. You say that you are now beginning to exercise, let us know how that turns out. It's definitly a great start...

Eat about 5-6 meals a day spread out every meals every 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Don't eat the 'fat free' crap. It's mostly all sugar and processed foods. Instead you want to eat foods like fish, chicken, turkey, fruits, veggies, olive oil, fish oils, oatmeal, brown rice, and so on.

I will try the suggestions that have been mentioned. I want to be able to lose the weight by the beginning of August. I would also like to be able to lose at least a pound and a half per week between now and August. Are the pill products that are available simply gimmicks or do some of them actually work? What about Slim Fast?

What's the difference between brown rice and white rice?

Also, what I used to do is, I'd get bored while watching TV, so I'd grab a snack. I guess it was something to do with my hands? So now when I'm feeling bored, I get on the floor and do some situps, or I jog in place, then I get tired, and I'm not so bored anymore. <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
