Hi everyone, I being taking Xenadrine (w/ephedra)for about a week. but I just learn about the danger of ephedra, I feel fine and haven't had any side effects but I am concerned. I was wondering if anyone is taking the same kind, and I would appreciate I little feed back.
I was taking Xenadrine RFA-1 (ephedrine 20mg) and had no problem on it. I took 2 capsules in the morning before breakfast and 2 more before lunch. It worked well but I switched to Hydroxycut because I was told it has the same ingredients as Xenadrine but it also has an appetite suppressant. I take Hydroxycut twice a day (4 pills daily). In total, I have been using this type of pill (the one with ephedrine) for 5 months and have had no side affects common to the tale-tale signs of problems. Before the publicity of this drug, I used to take several types of diet pills, diet teas, etc throughout the past 10 years with this drug in it. I found some old bottles about a month ago and looked at the ingredients and sure enough – Ma Huang was listed on each bottle.
I honestly believe some people are more prone (genes or whatever) to have problems using this type of drug. It is risky to take anything but you know your body better than anyone else and if you feel there is something wrong – stop immediately. Thousands of people take different chemicals that can assist them in various ways – it’s up to you. In my own experience, I have had a lot of success with this drug and have had no negative side affects.
Thank you for your replys it really helped me, I feel a little bit of relief now, because it is true everyones body is different, and I too found other bottles of other products I have used on the past and they too contained ma huang in it, so I had been taking it since long ago without even knowing about it, but because of all the fuss going around ephedra I got scared. But I might try the new one without ephedra next just to be on the safe side I guess,
and just one last question does Hydroxicut has ephedra? and how good does it supress the apetite?
thanks again for the responses highly apreciated

It may be true that ephedra is not good for some but I think this is for the ones who abuse it and take a higher dosage then required. I personally know 4 people who have taken xenadrine with ephedra and lost quite a bit of weight. Its like most of any meds .You abuse them you will have bad side efects. Good luck to you!
I just started taking the Hydroxycut without Ephedra/Ephedrine a couple days ago. Up here in Canada, I don't think alot of stuff is sold with Ephedrine anymore, or maybe only if it's under a certain amount, but at the same time, it can be bought seperately because it has other medicinal uses. I'm not positive, but most of this board seems to be American, and I've heard others talk of Hydroxycut without Ephedrine, so I would imagine it's there too <IMG SRC="http://www.healthboards.com/ubb/smile.gif">
I just like to say that I am extremely happy I have lost 7 lbs in a week dieting and exercing and with a little help of the product mention above(Xenadrine). And this board has help me in learning great info because there is no better tool than being informed.
Forgive me beforehand if this message is rambling, this is my very first post. I felt inclined to write after reading the many posts about Zenadrine.
I have used Zenadrine w/Ephedra on and off for over three years with mixed results. It wasnt until six or so months ago that I realized that the best way to use the product is by exercising and eating properly. For the longest time I thought that if I hardly ate, didnt exercise and popped pills I would lose the 30+ pounds I wanted to lose.
After many sleep less nights, some manic behavior and a thinner wallet, I finally figured out what really works. I am like most people who know whats good for them but are convinced that there really is a miracle pill out there and it will take the place of common sense. I didnt want to admit that what I really needed to do was exercise more than 3 times a week, cut out the bad food I was eating and stop the pill popping. Of course, that was easier said than done.
I'm not going to kid anyone, I still use pills, however I recently took one month off of them (at the time I was using Results and Simply Cut by EAS) and I never felt better. I havent eaten any fast food since January 1, (my new years resolution!) and I work out at least 5 times a week. Unfortunately my weight loss has been slow, and I am easily discouraged, but I have to tell myself every day that I didnt gain all of this weight in one month and I can't expect it to go away without some hard work on my part. My only motivation is that I dont want to be thirty(i'm 23) and look this way and Im determined not to have either diabetes or high blood pressure (two diseases that run rampant in my family).
For those who choose to go the pill route, use your common sense and don't go overboard. The best piece of advise I would give is to EAT ( I know it sounds crazy right!-but your diet is 80% of the battle) at least 5-6 times a day to keep your metabolism up, drink water (at least 1/2 of your bodyweight in oz), and exercise (both resistance training and cardio) between 4-6 times a week. Take the pills early in the day if possible, I make sure I've taken my second dose by 10:30 a.m. at the latest, and cycle off every five days, and cycle off entirely every twelve weeks. Most important dont give up! Find a friend or a chat room, something, to keep you motivated when you'd rather sit on your behind and watch the Osbournes.
