That's a little hard to advise since you have very little control over your meals. Since you only need to lose a little, and from the sound of you, it sounds like your young, a little bit of mindful choices in what to eat would be good. There's a user here by the name of momonline that advocates a diet by Dr. Shapiro... that may be a good start for you. Hopefully she'll read this and advise you. But to start, cut back any sugar you can... that includes junk food and sodas... and if you can, cut back on starchy foods such as pasta, bread, potatos, etc... they're empty calories that just get turn to sugar, and thus fat, in your body.
Also, are you active? If not, a little more activity may help.. jogging, sports, cardio machines, maybe some light weights. 29 lbs over the summer is definitely possible, though it will take some work... it might be a little harder for you since you have less control over what you can eat.
Good luck girl! hmmmm as the previous poster said cu out empty calories. Consume at least 75% LESS than you did, but of COURSE still allow youself treats! (how fun would life be without them!?!) You're still so young and don't want to feel like you're restricting yourself- while ALL your friends are goin at all the candy, soda, and chips they want. (That just wouldnt be fair, and it'd just make you feel isolated)
Sometimes teens don't realize the empty calories soda has...try diet or just cut soda all together
(im a diet coke ADDICT!!.) That could be cutting out more calories (i.e.= POTENTIAL fat) than you realize.
You made me so proud and happy when you said you want to do this th healthy way! You are a SPECIAL person. Too many kids are getting caught into "starvation," or the terrible "purging" of the food. That only leads to unhappiness, depression and struggle eventually...In the long-run you'll be the most content
Good luck and i wish you the best! I'll post more tips too when im not so tired hehe.
