| Do you think I can lose weight?
OK, I need some advice here. I'd really like to lose 2-3 lbs. I've been restricting for months now and my weight loss has been minimal. I was trying to take in about 1500 cal, but would usually end up around 1700-1800.
I am a swimmer and have a 2 hour practice 5 days a week (probably adds up to about 90 min of actual swimming). I was going to the gym and doing the elliptical for 30 min every day. Now I only do it about 3 days per week. I plan to increase to 5 days a week. I also plan to start lifting.
The past few days I decided to up my calories to 2000. I knew that 1500 was not even close to enough and I was slowing my metabolism. The problem is that I am soo much hungrier now! But I fear that I am eating too much and I won't lose weight. Technically I should be eating more that 2000 calories, so you would think that I would lose weight on this amount, but I'm doubtful. You would think the way I eat and exercise the weight would fly off, but it doesn't.
BTW, I'm eatin 40% carbs, 30% fat, and 30% protein. I eat almost no processed food. I eat a lot of fruit, veggies, meat, eggs, nuts, seeds, and only whole wheat reduced calorie bread and pitas. The only packaged food I'm eating right is salad dressing, light mayo, mustard, and ketchup.
I am a 19 yr old female and 5'4'' about 110 lbs. I know that sounds slim, but i definitely have a good amount of fat on me, especially my legs. If you only looked at my bottom half you would think I was overweight, so I do have fat to lose. It's so frustrating because I work so hard and see no resuls. I'm working my body a lot and normally pretty hungry. It's not fun to do all this but get nothing in return. Please, tell me what you think.
