Has anyone used collagen supplements?

I have started to use this pretty impressive product. I have been on this product a week and already lost a notch in my belt. But the amazing thing about this product is that I have had the best sleep ever. I usually wake up a couple of times a night. Not after taking this stuff. Also, I have had bad knees for a very long time. They have been know to hurt quite a bit. After taking this product I haven't felt any pain with them. I feel more refreshed, my joints feel better and I have lost a notch in my belt. The funny thing is I haven't done anything else different besides taking this product. It is all done when I sleep. Has anyone else tried these collagen supplements?

Re: Has anyone used collagen supplements?

Are they supposed to help you lose weight, or is that an unexpected side effect?

I've never heard of anyone using it to lose weight. If it is specifically supposed to help lose weight, how does it go about doing such?

Thanks!

Re: Has anyone used collagen supplements?

Actually this product is positioned as a weight loss product. What the collagen does is to help create lean muscle when you sleep. That is why it helps joints. That is why my knees haven't hurt since I have taken it. The more muscle there is, the more energy will be used including fat. This is what I have been told and have found through research. The beauty is this is all done when you sleep. I still think a healthy diet and exercise is still needed but I wanted to try this without exercise and changing my diet. So far I have had great results. The great thing is this doesn't cost a lot of money.

Re: Has anyone used collagen supplements?

I have researched the products advertised and I believe they are all simply hydolyzed collagen which is....gelatine! You can buy a months supply of Sundown gelatine which has no taste when mixed in water and simply take it at bedtime and it only costs $9.54 at Wal Mart. I haven't seen much weight loss in four months but I do think it has helped the osteoarthritis in my knees, which is the only product I have tried that has helped including syn visc. Check it out..it's a shame to spend $50.00 a month or more for gelatine!!

Re: Has anyone used collagen supplements?

I use a collagen supplement...I have used it for over 2 years and I love it. I have lost over 40 pounds with it but mostly I have cysts on my ovaries and arthritis in my elbows and shoulders and as long as I have been taking this product I feel GREAT! No pain which is perfect for my life! With 5 kids to keep up with! THe collagen we use has added oxygen in it which is supposed to not only add oxygen to your body but enhance the products effectiveness. Try one...there are many out there. Good Luck!<p>[This message has been edited by moderator1 (edited 01-30-2002).]

Re: Has anyone used collagen supplements?

Hi all!

Thank you so much for the feedback. I got my supplement and have a problem. Did anyone else experience severe stomach cramps at first? I took it one night and was in a lot of pain, and even the next day, so I haven't taken it again. I was up most of the night. I keep reading the ingredients wondering what could have caused it...... Anyone??

Re: Has anyone used collagen supplements?

If you have a Wal Mart get the Sundown Gelatine which is simply hydrolyed collagen, the ingredient the various supplement is made of, just cheaper. It truly does help my arthritis but as it says it takes about three months of regular use to kick in. Good luck.
