Not a good diet day.

I have been doing pretty well and I have lost a pound or so. I am just cutting back on what I am shoveling in my mouth. Well last night my fiance was hungry and wanted burger king. I had done pretty well the past few days so I felt I could splurge a bit. Not bad I had a cheeseburger, small onion rings and a pepsi. Well today I just don't know what happened. I had a subway sub for and early dinner. An hour or so later my eternally skinny cousin called and wanted to go out for Italian. I said sure but I would just get desert. Well of course I got there and the good looking waiter talked me into strawberry shortcake. And then my cousin doesn't want her meatballs so I eat them. I get home and decide I want to make myself a drink so I have a shot and a beer. And what goes better with beer than chips. So at that point I felt it was useless and finished the bag of chips. <IMG SRC="">

Sorry so long I just needed to get all this off my chest. Tomorrow will be better.

P.S. It didn't really help that the fiance was asking me just what exactly cellulite was and then asked if that's what the bumps were on my thighs! Dumb boys!

Sorry you had such a rough day, but you're right...tomorrow's another day, and can be alot better <IMG SRC=""> Sounds like you've got your head on straight though, and aren't going to be beating yourself up too badly about slipping one day. We're only human...we're going to have bad days once in a while...we just have to get over it and remember to try again the next day <IMG SRC="">

The way I like to diet (did I just say the "D" word) is to give myself "FREE DAYS" Once I meet a small goal (usually attainable in 2-3 weeks) I choose a day to become my "FREE DAY" That is the day I eat what I want, when I want, and how much I want. I usually start off first thing in the morning and stop the "FREE DAY" at or around 7-8pm (depending when I am going to bed that night). It makes my life so much better. I never feel deprived, it's something to look forward to. When I want something sweet or craving french fries, I wait until my free day comes around.

I know you are thinking – wow, I am doing so good only to ruin it with one day of splurging…. Let me tell you what really happens. While you were reaching your mini goal, you had enough time to get into a diet frame of mind. You have accomplished something great – losing weight. You will overall make better choices on your free day then if you never reached a goal. Plus your appetite has changed and you will not eat as much. Overall, you are splurging but does it really affect your weight loss goals – not really. Will you get a boost of energy after a free day – YES! The main things to remember – start on your strict diet the next day – don’t decide to spurge for a week – because the more days you eat anything – the harder it will get to restart.

I usually have sunday's as some-what free days. I will try to be healthy for breakfast and lunch and then splurge at dinner. I think if I allow myself more than one free meal it might get out of control.
Also I think part of my problem is that I don't get enough fat and then I can't help the cravings.
Oh well I am doing a bit better today. I have goals for myself for about every 2 weeks. I will weigh myself on the 19th, so I will have enough time to get back on track!

If you are going to splurge, the worst time to do it is dinner time. Your body doesn't have enough time to burn the extra calories you consumed!! Instead you go to bed with all the unburned calories and it turns into FAT!!! If you are going to cheat, Do it for breakfast or lunch.<p>[This message has been edited by CC (edited 06-19-2002).]
