I naturally have large muscled arms. I am a petite 5' 3", and my body is pretty thin, except my arms! I started working out again (just cardio) and have since shed a lot of the fat on my body, however the muscles in my arms are still large. I do some weight lifting (light weight) for all my body except my arms. I do not want them to get any bigger! I want to have skinny arms that are toned. I know that muscles atrophy when not used, but why won't mine. Any suggestions?
actually, do some weight training with your arms. Do very light weights.........under 5 pounds, and do ultra high reps. Your muscles will go into endurance building mode, and compact themselves. Also, you will burn up any intermuscular fat that is in there, and tone up even further.
Thanks guys, I think I'll start doing the tread mill more often and do lots of small weights! By the way, how high is ultra high, shiftyeyedone? Should I be feeling any burn with the 3-5 lb weights, or should I just do like 100? Also, how many days a week would you say I should do the weights...twice a week or every other day? Thanks again!
