| Re: HEELLLLP!!! i need thinner legs!!!
Years a go I had large bulky, muscle legs, because I wasn't informed about lifting heavy weights and bulking!! I thought the heavier the better!! After I created a lot of heavy muscle and became discouraged I stopped going to the gym. My friend and I decided to take up cycling. I bought a bike and took off. Well I went down the street and back the first week or so.
About a month into our training, I was able to ride about 3-5 miles with ease and noticed my legs started to thin. After 3 months of riding an average of 5 days a week (first thing in the morning is great - cooler weather and less traffic), I was able to ride all day (10 - 15 miles) easily and my legs became thin. I lost a lot of weight all over my body (about 40 pounds). During the work week I rode about 5-6 miles first thing (in the beginning it was less than a 1/2 mile). I just told myself that I would ride 30 minutes 3 days a week and an hour 2 days a week. On weekend I would ride for hours and do longer trips (5-8 hours) once I started to enjoy it instead of viewing cycling as exercise.
Once I stopped riding because I moved to an area that is extremely hot year round and it makes it difficult to breath (I'm asthmatic), I slowly gained the weight back (and then some) but my legs never bulked up again. I tried using indoor bikes but it doesn't offer the same affects as the real thing.
I am planning on moving back to my hometown area (within the year) and I will pick up cycling again. It is one of the easiest forms of exercise and you can work at your pace.
I hope this helps you, CC
