| Re: Ready to Lose
Here's what works for me:
A moderately high protein, low simple sugar/moderate complex carbs, and low fat diet. I eat most of my carbs before noon.
I do 25 mins. of cardio 4-5 days a week IN THE MORNING (you'll burn much more fat if you exercise before breakfast), and I take a 2.5 mile walk (50 mins. of walking) either every night or morning. I do exercises such as jumping jacks (sounds easy but after a minute or so you'll begin to feel it), push-ups, sit-ups, and other "home-based" type of exercising.
I take Centrum Performance as well as additional levels of Vitamin E & C, B vitamins and Selenium.
One day a week I allow myself to eat whatever I want, but mostly I just eat my normal diet and "cheat" on dinner -- usually chinese food.
That's what has worked for me. I've lost 17 pounds in about 10 weeks, which is about right -- the body can only metabolize a pound or two of fat per week. I probably could have lost a little more weight, but for a while I began eating too much pasta and rice and it slowed down the rate of fat loss. However, it's my opinion that slow and steady wins the race. <p>[This message has been edited by justink80 (edited 06-16-2002).]
