Cayenne Pepper Pills

Anyone that knows anything about this herb, please respond. I was wondering if it could aid in weight loss if I took a pill before a meal? I also was wondering how many mg I should take a day? I heard that you should not take it unless you have enough food in your stomach for it to burn through. Otherwise it will try eat your stomach lining instead. Is this true? About how much food do I have to take before its ok to take a pill? Does it have to be fattening foods?

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

cayenne is the essence that makes cayenne peppers HOT, ive seen the oil cause second degree burns on skin.
I don't know about it as a weight loss aid but when it errr "all comes out in the end"

I would NOT want to feel that BURN

and i'm the one that everyone gives the jalapeno slices to when we go out for nachoes

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

LOL, **** it would be awful if a person actually did have to feel the hotness once it came out the other end! But luckily I never had that happen. I've taken em a few times during bigger meals, that way it won't hurt my stomach lining. I heard it raises the metabolism cuz of the heat it makes.

Really? DOes it work? When do you take them? After or before a meal? I have 500mg pills and only take one after a decent sized meal. Does that sound ok?

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

it won't bother your stomach lining. I used them before, but I didn't notice any effects on my fat loss, so I stopped...but then again I get a lot of spice in my regular diet, so I may have already had that covered.

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

yews trinket it does. i take 3 after each meal. taking it 1x a day will work too, but i would suggest taking 3, not 1. if you need to, start with 2,& work up to 3

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

Why did my friend double over in pain then when she took one without any food in her? was it just really hot in her stomach and making her ill? I barely get any spice in my food unless I have salsa, but even that is not that hot. I was hoping it would help a little because I read that its supposed to warm you up and get ur metabolism going a little.

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

the only reason your friend should have had stomach pain is if she had something wrong with her stomach...an ulcer, etc.

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

I tried to take 2 after a meal last night and I could feel a burning sensation in my stomach going up sorta like heartburn yet I know it was the pills. This happened after about 5 minutes of taking 2 at one time. I was starting to feel jumpy and sick so I quick ate two peices of bread and a glass of milk which then stopped it. Does this mean I have an ulcer or something bad with my stomach?
[This message has been edited by Trinket (edited 03-04-2002).]

Re: Cayenne Pepper Pills

I am taking the capsules, do u think that could be why I can feel the "burn"? I don't think I have an ulcer because I just got tested for everything at the hospital a few weeks ago and I think the doctor would have caught that.
