Hi Joanna! Welcome to the board. I'm new myself. Personally I have a hard time having an intake of 1200 a day. You need to see what you normal calories burned per day are and then go from there. You need to burn more calories then what you take in. Personally my normal intake is 1000 calories a day. I do Martial Arts 3 times a week, brisk walks around my neighbor hood 5 times a week, and make healthier choices during the day. Stairs instead of elevator. Park further from stores so I have to walk further. If you have a smart phone get a good calorie counting application to help you track you intake and calories burned. Good luck!
