Out of control thyroid, MTHFR and majorly overweight...need help

I have Hashimotos disease, which has cuased hypothryoid. I also have MTHFR. I am 5'11 and 290lbs. My thryoid has been totally crazy since I was 18, but never diagnosed until I was 26 (100lbs heavier) and lost my first child. I have since gotten on the proper meds, but my hashis is still not well controlled. I take 250mcg of synthroid per day. I now have 3 children, and I still have 10lbs of that left to lose before getting back to my first prepregnancy weight. I have such low self esteem, and body image issues that I just hate looking at myself in the mirror or in pictures. I need to get myself to a healthy weight for my kids. I know I should be doing it for me, but they are my reason for living, so everything I do is for them. I know this will not happen fast, and I've tried medifast and the HGC diet, but seriously, those are not realistic ways of eating. I need help on how to really lose weight. I do not eat too bad. I may have a few too many sweets every now and again, but not enough to keep me this fat. I do not work out all that much because of time and energy issues. However, my lifestyle is moderatly active. I want a reallistic eating guide, and easy to make kid friendly foods so I do not have to cook more than 1 meal for dinner. Can anyone help me?

I don't know the answer... I have hashimotos as well. I lost my first child too and now have three healthy children. My thyroid issue was diagnosed a year ago and have gained so much lately and tired all the time. My doc has recommended I go on duromine pending my next set of blood results.
