Im having trouble finding the correct amount of calories I should be eating a day. Im 23, 6ft 0 male and weigh 205 lbs. I want to get down to about 190. Ive checked a few sites and ive got suggested Calories a day to lose weight from 1500 to 3100 daily. I do a 15 minute cardio and a P90X workout daily. Anyone know what Range I should be in? Both minimum and max please?
I cannot help with number of calories for you, however, remember, our bodies do not work the same. Some people have great metabolisms and others have slow metabolisms.
Reducing or omitting starches and sweets will go a long ways in losing weight. Avoid fast foods, soft drinks, and alcohol. Eating lean meat and non-starch vegetables in normal servings will help to lose weight. Let water be your beverage. Avoid snacking, those nibbles add up to a lot of calories.
Do at least 30 minutes of aerobic exercise every day and do not let the computer and TV keep you sitting all the time. I know at work some people must sit at a computer, however, at home move about and do not sit around.
A great way to lose weight is to keep "an invisible zipper in closed position over mouth" when in presence of food other than meal time of normal servings.
Good luck! Know you will succeed.

The huge difference from the websites is because you're doing an intense workout and need the calories, but you're still trying to lose weight so you need to consume less.
Honestly my advice is to just see how you feel. Don't worry about the numbers unless you have some reason to be a certain weight ( weight divisions for some sports, etc ). If you look and feel great at your weight, then just keep doing what you're doing. If you really want to lose the weight, just cut your intake down by maybe 5-10% and continue until you're at your goal weight, but don't go back up once you get there or you will gain it back.

I would calculate what you are consuming now and then reduce that but don't go lower than 1800. And up that cardio. 15 minutes isn't enough. You could do that on days you work out but on alternating days, get up to 30 minutes.
I really appreciate the advice. I do the short cardio and a full workout each day. I can up it though. I have been seriously under eating then, I have been at around 1200 so thats probably why I havent lost any wieght. Thanks again.
