Diet and Drugs

My dilemma. I really need to lose 25 pounds but I'm bothered by angina, not serious but real.
The best drug class for prevention of attacks are beta-blocklers, usually atenolol which I have recently started...and it works completely.

BUT I took atenolol years ago for hypertension and I know first hand that a major side effect is WEIGHT GAIN, which I do not need or want.

It seems a Hobson's choice that I am stuck with, so just using the opportunity to vent: BAH, HUMBUG! It sucks when you need to do something for your health that inevitably causes health problems.
