| A Curious Case
Hello,
I am 20 years old, was previously very healthy, and contracted west nile last summer in June. Since that time I have gone through a variety of stages of symptoms which are as follows:
exhaustion, sensitivity to sound, lack of energy, panic attacks, more exhaustion, hives, then difficulty with concentration, and more hives.
Many of these have overlapped and faded in and out within weeks or months.
I can hardly count how many months it's been but last week I finally felt like my body was actually on the winning side for once. One symptom however has persisted without ceasing: hives. I know there are many different kinds and i'm fairly certain I suffer from two different types. Some are hot to the touch and extremely itchy. If I touch them they get worse but if I leave them alone, they eventually dissappear without a trace within 5-10 minutes. The second type are more distinct in that they don't itch, they're not hot, but they swell and they appear anywhere, even on occasion above my eyebrow.
So i'm wondering if this is connected to West Nile, or if maybe these hives are the result of something completely different. I've never had allergies before only bad ezcema, but this is something else altogether. My body just doesn't feel balanced.
Has anyone encountered this before? Any suggestions?
-thanks,
a concerned student.
