So the question is; can you get pregnant even though you had these procedures? The laparoscopy would not affect whether or not you can get pregnant. And most women, as I recall, generally ovulate from one ovary and then the other. So you probably have at least one ovary which is up and functioning normally, although I would not count the other one as "nonfunctional" because of the surgery. So, yes, I think you could get pregnant. If you do not want a pregnancy, do not practice unprotected sex. And since you are still at that age when you are feeling invinceable, I might add you should never practice unprotected sex ever, ever, ever. Always protect your body, because ultimately, you are the only one who cares. I don't mean to sound harsh, but that is one of the true facts of life. Take care of yourself.

what i really wanted to know was if my chances of conceiving were greater 6 weeks after the operation?usually doctors advise patients who have had any major gyno procedures done to wait six weeks because one is very fertile during this time, but thanks for the reply anyway.

I had a larascopy October 11, 2000 when I was 23 yrs. old, and I got pregnant the middle of November 2000. No problems here. Having the procedure done should not affect your chances of getting pregnant.

Hoped I hepled a little.
