Question Cramps with no period

I had my period about 2 weeks ago. I've had my period for 5 years at 5 days each and this one was different. I had it for 3 days, it stopped for 2 and then I had 2 more days. Any ideas on why my body did that? Also for the past three days, when I go to bed and lay down, I get the worst cramps, I can hardly move. I normally don't even get cramps with my period and now without it they're horrible. If it helps any, I've had a boyfriend for 15 months and have been orally active for 6 months and digitally active for about 9. We haven't done anything in over a month. Any ideas? Thanks

Hmmm try asking this on the womens healthboard too-you might get a few more replies.

Have you been sick at all? When i was sick (the flu) my period-stopped then came back which was really weird but what was "quite normal" my doctor told me.

Is there also a chance that you could be pregnant? Not wanting to freak you out, but that could have something to do with it.

I get strep throat almost every year around this time but I haven't felt too sick lately. I just found out that my boyfriend has strep throat but I wasn't really sick during my period. There is absolutely no chance of me being pregnant.

Does it feel like menstrual cramps? It could be a digestive problem.

Question

It feels like menstral cramps, just A LOT worse then I have ever had. When I normally get them, they are barely there. This is more like someone just punching me over and over again. When I roll over I can hardly move.

DKS1109-
I usually get cramps in the middle of the month between my one period and the next, about halfway in my cycle. Also, if you use tampons, that has caused a few friends of mine, and also my mom to have their period start and then stop a few days later then start again. Tampons also tend to give me more cramps. Hope this info helps.

Yeah I get cramps halfway through my cycle when i'm ovulating too. Grrr. Being a girl can suck sometimes-lol.

I honestly wouldn't worry too much hun, its probably just a freak occurance, and a damn annoying one! If it happens next month and the month after that (your period stopping then starting) it might be a good idea to see your doctor. I wouldn't freak out though-our bods always do crazy things and this will most likely be just one of them.

other abdominal abnormalities can mimick cramps, I know if I get bad gas pains it's hard to tell the difference sometimes.

You should ask your mom if you can go get a check-up. You dont have to explain to her why or call and make the appointment yourself.
Second cycles can change for various reasons. Sometimes they change as we age. Other times stress, illness, and so on can change them.
You can get the cramping checked out by your doctor to see if there is another cause for it. It may not have anything at all to do with your cycle. It coudl be cramping from gas or another bowel problem. Or it could be your cycle changing.
But talking to a doctor will give you a better idea of what is going on.

DKS, I keep thinking about your letter. For how long have you had these cramps? And are these your typical menstrual cramp feelings? Or is this a different type of abdominal pain? If you've had these cramps for a few days already and they have not eased, or if they are a different type of pain, I'd definitely get to a doctor as soon as possible. I hope you can post back later, and I hope you feel better and have already been able to talk to someone.
