Post What is this? Need advice !!

History - a few months ago I began taking Stacker II diet pills. I only took them for one week. The last day I took them, I forgot I had already taken one and then took another one. During the drive home from work, I began getting this "drop" feeling which I can only describe as the feeling you get on a roller coaster when you drop from the top to the bottom and you get light headed, and your heart "flip flops". My heart rate also increased to an alarming rate and my hands were shaking uncontrollably. I drove myself to the emergency room where after waiting for 2 hours, the symptoms began to subside, then feeling fine, still not seeing a doctor, I went home.

Now - a few months later. On Saturday, everything was fine. As I was in the shower getting ready to go out to lunch, I began getting that "drop" feeling, over and over, then my arms and legs began to tingle and burn, but also seemed numb at the same time. I completed my shower and sat down on the bed. I began feeling worse as if I was fighting to stay awake. I called for my son to bring me the phone when he brought me the phone, I passed out or fainted and he dialed 911. When the ambulance arrived, they hooked me to the monitors, my pulse rate was at 155 and blood pressure was high (I usually have low pressure). They took me to the hospital by ambulance. By the time we reached the hospital, all vitas were back to normal. After staying in the hospital for 2 hours, with no reoccuring episodes, they were going to release me. As the doctor came in to tell me it must have been a "fluke" it happened again. I had the drop feeling, I told him it was coming again and as he stood there my heart rate went from 76 to 144 in a matter of seconds. The did an EKG on me, which was normal. Checked my thyroid and other blood work which they said was normal.

However, I have continued to have these episodes on an average of 3 - 6 times per day. Also, since Sat both my arms (from shoulder down through hands) have been numb. It's hard to explain, I can feel them, and move them, but hardly any sensation in them. Also, at the same time they seem to be "burning". Yesterday my legs began feeling the same way, but only in on the shin bone, the front area of the leg, from the knee down. My hands are also cold but sweaty.

I'm constantly dizzy, and have a hard time focusing. At times, I can feel my heart beating through my chest and experience a pain behind my left breast that radiates up to my shoulder.

I had a pretty bad episode on Tuesday night. I had spent the day feeling fine. Then that night, my friend asked me if I was allright, even though I wasn't, I didn't want him to worry so I told him yes and he said "then why are you grey" ....it was true, when I went to the bathroom to look in the mirror, my face was grey, I was sweating, my hands were shaking. This lasted for about one hour.

I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I did notice on friday, my rib cage and sternum, (the area between my breasts, but low where your bra strap rubs) were sore, like the bones were sore but I had no idea why. I also started my period on Friday and then had this "episode" on Sat around 1:30. I am no longer having my menstrual cycle, but am still experiencing these strange symptoms.

I am 31 years old, female, under no stress, good health, haven't even been sick in the past 3 years other than the usual cold/flu during winter.

I have an md appt on Friday, just wondering if anyone had any ideas or has experience any of the same things.

It's really worrying/scareing me !!

well, it would be my first thought to stop taking all OTC suppliments and vitamins.
What you are experiencing can be a signal of multiple things or multiple things going tilt at once.
Sometimes our bodies do a domino effect and when
one system gets thrown out of balance it seems like a bunch of other stuff goes too.
Things could have a root in either an endocrine problem or a gynecology problem. I would suggest that you ask for a referal to a reproductive endocrinologist.
Sine I found my doctor I have come to the conclusion that those kind of specialists are more accurate with problems that seem to be a big mystry.
I've been a hypertensive since my early 30's.
Back then, my BP was up and down and all over the place and very hard to define.
Eventually someone got it right and figured out that I needed to be on maintenance HBP meds.
So things got under control and life was managable for a lot of years.
Until this last year.
I've had a few surgeries and many female problems and the whole illness thing threw my body out of what ever balance had been hanging on by a thread.
I went through up and down numbers all over again after my second surgery. The pulse just kept staying higher and higher for longer and longer.
I was having technical heart failure and not even
the ER's I was going to could figure it out.
I finally took myself to a cardiologist and I am now on new medication that is keeping my pulse controled.
I had no permanent heart damage from the episodes but I find that my brain has remained very foggy and just not what feels right to me. I am seeing a neurologist next week because of the things that never settled well after my pulse got back under control.
Good Luck in finding answers and just to be safe don't take any more suppliments.
kat

I agree with Kat about the supplememnts. Everything you have said has happened to me almost to a "T".

I went to the ER on two occasions and they told me I was havng panic attacks.

That was in 1999. About 4 months ago I was having bad palpatations, arm pain.timgling, shortness of breasth and oh the sweating. I had a normal EKG, my blood levels are not to great.

I have alot of female problems like Kat mentioned. It wasn't until this past Nov I saw a neurologist, I had a brain MRI and the differential is something demyelination (Multiple Sclerosis) and Vascular Lesion (like stroke, Malformation)

I find that ER's are more apt to diagnose anxiety as the problem with women no matter what, eventhough of course anyone having heart, blood pressure or neurological symptoms is going to be anxious.

I did have a holter monitor for 24 hours and my resting heart rate is 95 with elevations as high as 145 bpm. My blood pressure is always elevated (high) one time 167/110 but have never been on BP meds or anything for the tachycardia. I also have premature atrial beats but noone seems to be concerned.

Anyway, I sure hope your Dr's appt reveals some answers for you and it's nothing too serious.

Take Care and God Bless Keep us informed.
