Spotting between periods - Women's Health Message Board

Has anyone ever had light spotting in between periods? My period just ended two weeks ago and today I'm spotting. My periods have always been regular, almost to the day and I just had my annual pap in December. I am 42 years old. Has anyone else ever experienced this?

Oh my yes! If it's just spotting and stops in a day or so, chances are you are ovulating. Being as you're 42, you probably are beginning to notice some slight changes in your cycle. I started noticing that at age 40 and at 47, it still happens from time to time. I wouldn't really be too concerned about it; perfectly natural, and you might mention it to your physician when you go for your annual exam just so he/she is aware that some changes are taking place.

I'm 32 and have had that in the past as well. Always when I was ovulating. Just spotting, nothing to worry about.

Thank you so much for the replies. It's always nice to hear that others have experienced the same thing and that it's nothing to be concerned with. I will keep and eye on things and mention it the next time I go in for my annual! Thanks again!

At your age you may want to check with your doc next time you see him/her and ask if it would be approptriate to get your hormone levels checked. Sounds like you could be starting perimenopause.
