what's going on? a question about 'down there' - Women's Health Message Board

a few weeks ago the day after my period i got really ichy and stuff. so my mom got me some med. for yeast infections. About a week after the treatment i was fine and didn't have any more symtoms. Now it's a week before my period and i've been taking pain killers and antiflamatory med. for my foot. Now i think the yeast infection is back. But it doesn't smell or itch like last time. It's swollen and feels like i have sores or something around the opening. It's very sore and painful to touch. It burns very badly to uriante to. I dont know if this is another infection or if the med. is causing this. I know that unbalanced hormones could cause infection and i am taking birth control. last time i had an infection after my period and it seems to be doing this again right before it. any suggestions would be great. thanks.

I would get to a doctor, why suffer? You may need a prescription med to get rid of it.

Medicines cause me either yeast or urinary tract infections. Could be urinary this time if it burns when you pee. Does your back hurt? I would go to a dr. they can probably do a urine test to find out what the problem is.

i had the same exact symptoms and swore it was a yeast infection or urinary tract infection, come to find out it was because i changed the brand of soap i was using. i am not saying thats what is wrong with you. i would definely get checked by a doctor but something to think about if you are using something new to wash with. you never know!

i've had my bellybutton pierced for two months now and I've been using bactine to clean it in the shower but recently changed to a band aid brand wash that does the exact thing. This new stuff seems to be a little more 'runny' and itll 'trickle' down there. it does have a 'fragrance' to it so i thought it might be the cause of the problem but the bottle is almost empty and i never had the problem till recently. I'm 80% sure that the soaps ive been using is the cause since im swollen and very sore. I'm going to switch back to the bactine and see if that helps.
