fluttering??? - Women's Health Message Board

I have been experiencing a weird fluttering/muscle spasm(not painful)sensation in my lower abdomen possibly uterus. It almost feels like a baby kicking.

I experience this everyday, several times a day. It is more annoying than anything and if I put my hand there I can sometimes feel it. I have heard of this happening during pregnancy as the uterus expands but I am pretty sure that I am not pregnant as I am on the shot and have no other symptoms. I also experienced the same thing two years a go for a short period of time.

Does anyone know what could be causing this? Please no speeches on the Depo unless you feel this is the problem because I have had no problems with it so far in the 2&1/2 yrs that I have been on it. I actually found a post on this problem on a different site but nobody knew what would cause it.

I will be going to the doctor in a couple of weeks for an unrelated problem and I will ask him if it is still going on. I just thought someone might know in the meantime. I have searched on the internet but have found nothing so far.

hey i have the same thing happen to me. i usually find that it happens on the 1st week of my pill. i too am not pregnant. when this first started i also thought i was. but with me it comes and goes. and it really is just spasms. i've always tested negative for pregnancy and i alway take my pill and get my period like clockwork. so though it may seem like a pregnancy i dont believe it is. but do tell us what ur doctor says.

Hi to you both -

I have not ever had this happen to me, but I have a thought. If it happens when you are pregnant, and on depo and the pill - might it be hormonal changes in your body that is changing the size or something of your uterus? I have no idea if this is right, but it struck me that pregnancy changes hormones tremendously, as does depo and the pill.

Just a thought.

Hey!

This happened to me a few months ago for about a week and a half and I am definitely not pregnant. I suffer with what I believe is IBS (specialist appt on 1st July). I noticed (and this may sound silly) that when I ate whole grain english muffins with 9 different types of grain in it I would get the stomach flutterings very low down. I stopped with the muffins and it has been fine since. Although that may just be a coincidence?

i dont know what it is either but i too have it and i know im not pregnant my husband had a vasectomy and i just got done having my period i am on no form of birth control my self so i thought hey maybe the vasectomy failed so i got a test and it was negative and then i started my period to i know im not pregnant but i get that all the time my husband has even felt it when i am laying up against him and has asked me if im pregnant because he says it feels like a baby kicking i dont know what it is i have been to my drs and none of them have been able to give me an answer so best of luck to you
