Question no period but not pg, what could the problem be?

A little history and then my question. I am 28 yrs old and was dx with endometrioses at 21 yrs. I have had surgery several times to burn off endo to remove left tube and ovary and also 2 tubule pregs in right tube. I have a tipped and retroverted uterus, I am missing most of the right tube. I also have Hypothyroidism (Hashis), I am positive for Leiden Factor 5.

On July 1st (around the time I should have ovulated) I woke up with a horrible shooting pain in my right side. The pain was so bad that at 5am my husband took me to the ER. In the ER they did Cat-Scan, X-ray and ultrasound. The Dr. said I have a very large corpus luteum cyst and that it appeared that it had ruptured. The Dr asked if I wanted to stay in the hos for pain control but I opted to go home with a rx for vicodin. I followed up with my OB-GYN who is the professor of Obstrecticts and gyn at USF here in Fla. My Dr said that the pain was normal and that should be fine. Here is my problem, I was supposed to start my period on the 15th and I did not, I still was having a full tight feeling on the right side over my ovary. I was scared to death that it was another etopic pg, I called the Dr. she ordered a pg hormone test asap, it came back negative. She said that maybe my cycle is just messed up because of the cyst and not to worry. Yesterday I finally started spotting a little but it was brown and pink. This morning I am not spotting at all. I still have a slight pulling feeling and full feeling over the right side. My period last month was very light as well, not at all typical for me given I have severe endo. For the past year I have been going through test to see if I have MS, finally my family Dr. said that he thinks the endo has spread to my nerves on my spine. Anyway I was wondering could I possibly be going through menopause due to only having one ovary, could it be polycystic ovary? Anyone have any insight on what could be going on with me? I don't see my OB-GYN until Aug 12th.

Hi there -

I have endo, and the pulling and twisting is very common for this. I would guess that the irregular periods are due to one ovary, and hormonal stuff from the cysts, etc. One ovary doesn't bring on menopause, but no ovaries will.

Call your doc and ask to be put on a cancellation list to see if you can get in sooner.

Good luck.
