Post kidney stone symptoms, BUT NO STONES?! what else????

Hello all...

I have been CONVINCED for a good 2 weeks now that I have kidney stones, so much so, I went to the doc and got tested. the results just came back negative. So I am left wondering what the heck is going on, perhaps you may shed some light??

lower left back pain
left side abdomen pain
pain in left groin area
shooting pain down my butt into my left leg (sometimes making it go a bit numb)
nausea (sometimes)

I have NO IDEA what this could be if it is not kidney stones (I have experience with one so that is why i was convinced I had another one)....

Unfortunately, I have no idea either. Did your doc offer any other info? What are you supposed to do now? If he didn't, call him back and ask, and if you don't get any answers, maybe its time to switch docs.

If you had kidney stones you would definately know it as you wouldn't be able to sit at a computer to even type a message. Kidney stone pain is excrutiating and unbearable often making it difficult to even straighten up. I am not sure what is causing your pain but since you mention that is sometimes causes numbness you need to have the doc investigate further and find out what is going on.

Have either of you had a vaginal ultrasound to see if you have a cyst? That is another alternative.

Did you possibly strain yourself? Sometimes that can cause alot of pain. Just a thought.
Also, you may have a cold that has settled in that area.
I myself have had several kidney stones and believe me, they are unbearable!
You may possibly have an ovarian cyst too.
I would definitely ask the doctor what other things could be causing the pain if it persists.

Good luck!
