Just wondering, for those of you on the pill:
How long do your periods last? And how long were they before you were on the pill?
With mine, it seems to last about 3-4 days, but I have spotting for the next couple of days after that till I take the hormone pills again...anyone elses like this?

When I have a period it usually lasts 1 day that has a medium flow and then 2 days of very light flow.
Before taking the pill my period were never really the same each month. But it typically lasted 1 heavy flow day, one medium/heavy flow, followed by 3-4 light flow days.
Mine usually starts on the third of fourth day of the inactive pills, so by the time it is over it is time to start taking the hormone pills again anyway.
I just started taking the pill and before I did my period would be 2 - 3 days, flowing lightly. Since I have been on the pill, my last period was 4 - 5 days and heavy 3. Not the kind of adjustment I was going for but I JUST started it a week ago.

Before I started taking the pill, my periods would be heavy and I'd have heavy cramping and in total it would last 5-7 days. On the pill, I have a very light flow and no cramps and it lasts 2-3 days. I usually get my period 1-2 days after starting the sugar pills.
Mine was 7 days of heavy to medium flow before the pill and about 3-4 days of meduim to light flow since I started taking the pill. Sometimes I will have some bleeding a day or 2 into the hormone pills but I think thats because my period doesn't start the first few days of the placebos.

I often find that I have a normal period bleed for about 3-4 days, light on the last 2, but then I have a little blood almost like spotting that comes out when I wipe (sorry for details!) and that goes on till like a day or two into hormone pill-taking again.
My pill-periods are usually medium for the first day, a little less than medium for the second day. After that it's barely noticeable, and tapers off until I start taking the hormone pills again. I still get cramps but they're very slight - nothing compared to cramps I got when I wasn't taking the pill. PMS has pretty much gone too
I'm on the pill and mine used to last 2-3 days, but it has always been like that. I just started bcp and my period was heavier than normal and 4 days which I'm not liking that too much.

I am on Ortho Novum777 and my periods last 3 days and they are very light. Before I started the pill, I was getting them like every 3 weeks, and they were 5-6 days and were moderate to heavy flow. I hated it. Now, I feel a lot better when I am on my period.
before I went on the pill (Ortho Tricyclene) I had my period for about 6 days and I had extremely bad cramps! I still have my period for 6 days but my cramps aren't as bad. However, I have now been diagnosed with PMDD and I think it is because of the pill. Needless to say it has gotten so disruptive that I am going off of it tomorrow.
My period typically lasts 3 full days, and then I have spotting/VERY light flow the next two days. Also, the blood looks brown the last two days when it is very light.....is this normal?
I've been on the Pill for 12 years and at this point,my period consists of a little cramping, and such little blood that all I need is a panty liner to wear for about half a day and that's it. This started a few years ago and my gyno says that it's normal for some women to get little to no bleeding on some pills. (Of course, the first time I missed, I FREAKED!)
