Unhappy ---ortho tricyclen and depression--

I recently started taking ortho tricyclen, because I was going to start taking accutane for my acne but ever since I started the bc pills, I've been VERY depressed. I know that accutane can also cause depression so I dont think it's a good idea to go on it now....but do you think the depression could be cause by the ortho tricyclen??...I read the information that came with it, and I didnt see anything about this?? what should i do?? please help

It's very possible that your ortho-tri-cyclen is causing depression. If you haven't been on the pill very long, you could try and stick it out for another month or so and see if the depression goes away. If its really bothering you, I'd suggest you go back to your doctor and change brands. Practically any pill can help with acne (if that's what you're using it for), and if you're using it for birth control purposes, you can still change brands. explain to your doctor your depression, and he/she will prescribe you something else.

Yep, I think its the ortho tri...See, within the month it switches your hormones 3 different degrees, hence the name ortho tricyclene (meaning 3). Try orthonovum, it keeps your hormones steady throughout the month. If you dont fluctuate your hormones your less likely to become depressed...
