| Re: Has anyone tried vitex for PMS
Hi,
I'm on my second cycle using the vitex for severe PMS and cramping. I use 400mg three times a day. In addition, I'm also taking 100mg B6, 1300mg evening primrose oil, 500mg MSM, 100mg 5 HTP, and progesterone cream twice a day from ovulation to menses. Last cycle, my symptoms were 75% improved! It's supposed to take 3*6 months for full effect, so I'm excited. For me, taking multiple supplements are far superior to the prozac and birth control pills that are offerred at the doctor's office.
btw**I also have infertility, and required lots of hormone injections/iui when I conceived 7 years ago. My cycle length was also more normal with the supplement regimen.
Good luck,
Kiki
My mother has been trying to talk me into taking vitex for my dysmennorea(severe cramps) and PMS/Infertility symptoms. I did research on it and it is mainly for people with low progesterone, in which I have none of the symptoms of that. The clinical research shows it has very rare and mild side effects and is safe to take. I don't want to take something I don't need, but my mom says it can't hurt. Has anyone ever tried vitex/chasteberry and if so for what?
thanks!![/QUOTE]
