abdominal wall endomitrioma

I have just been diagnosed with this. After 1 year and 2 months long haul of ct scans, ultrasounds, blood work, urine tests, they finally found the problem!I was told it was a abdominal hernia which it feels like, but is endomitrioma. In a way I'm relieved to have found out the problem. But on the other hand,I'm scared of what they could/may find as well. It's been so long and tiring.Every test I would have was negative. That's why it was so tiring.I knew something was wrong down on my abdominal wall, but for them to pinpoint the problem was hard.I had a c section in 1998.In 1999 I had an ectopic pregnancy. In 2000 I had another c section.2002 is when my problems began and 2004 they finally found it!I haven't had problems or pains associated with my periods. If anything they have been normal and clockwork. The only pain I have had for the last year has been my lower abdomen which has been tender from my left to right side constantly. That's been my main concern.I also had a kidney stone removed in August of 2003.So if anyone has had this or has it please write back. All I know is that the gynocologist said that they will have to do an exploritory laparotomy.I know what that is though.I'm just scared that they will say hystorectomy and I'm only 27.I'm also scared to find if it's spread to anywhere else in my lower half or upper.I've been taking anti vomit/nausea pills for some time because the doctor thought that it was a hernia. But it was endomitrioma. So I'm wondering why I've been so sick?So please, anyone with this please respond.I'm scared and stressed wondering whats happening!

Re: endomitrium of abdominal wall

is this the same problem as endometriousis? It sounds similar to the kind of problems I have had. Severe pain lower right and pelvis that does have a slight cyclical patern and somewhat heavy periods. Endo can be treated in many different ways depending on how advanced it is and where it is and also what stage in oyur life you are. The most comon way is key hole and lasers if it is fairly bad or horomones eg BCP. The sometimes put you on something called provera a progesternoe pill to help establish if this is your problem. I am sorry if I have got the wrong end of the stick with your problem. I felt very sick and sleepy when I started having problems. Hope that some of this helps.

Re: abdominal wall endomitrioma

Wow! I am am amaized after reading your article. I am a 26 yr. old who just had surgery Tues. I was diagnosed with the same problem 2 weeks ago. I felt a knot on the lower right side of my abdomen so I went to my gyno. to have a pap. done because I thought that I maybe had a cyst or a tumor. My results came back okay than God, but he said that the knot was probably an abdominal hernia. So he refered me to a surgeon. A few days later I had my appt. and he told me that it felt like a hernia but that I needed to have an ulrasound done to make sure. I was diagnosed with endomitriosis in 2004 after having a tubal done. I told him that so he said that I might also have an endomitrioma. I went fot my ultrasound and they said that they really couldnt tell what it was. It was probably a mass and so I was scheduled for surgery a couple of a days later and that they would have to do a biopsy on it. My surgery was two days ago and it was a hernia that he had to repair and it also was an endomitrioma. I was glad that that is all it was. Mine problem was diagnosed and fixed in a 2 week period. I don't understand what took so long for you to find out. Do you plan on going to have surgery done? I think all they will have to do with you is remove it just as well.
