Well, here's a man opinion anyway. The two procedures don't even compare with degree of danger and discomfort. He gets a local and you get general anesthesia. Your heart condition puts you out of the running as far as I'm concerned because this is, after all, elective surgery. Is he really willing to lose you on the operating table to avoid a few days of sore testicles?
He gets a small incision in his scrotum. You get two incisions that go through your abdominal muscles. A much more painful recovery.
When my wife and I were looking at this we made the decision on purely financial grounds. My insurance didn't cover the vas, and hers paid for all but $100 of the tubal. The anesthesia made her nauseous for a week. Her discomfort during the next six weeks made me regret the decision the save a few hundred dollars. My BIL & SIL took one look at our results and made the appointment for HIM when the time came. He said he would do anything to be rid of condoms.
Since then I've gotten to know several guys that have had it done and none have long term effects. Yup, they were sore for up to a week. I PERSONALLY feel that guys that don't feel the same afterward have other issues than physical ones down in "Man Land". The freedom from worry about BC lets most people be more relaxed when it comes time for sex. It becomes all about love, intimacy and fun.
