I am wondering if anyone has had a Novasure Ablation. I had one last Friday along with a Laparoscopy, D&C and a Hysteroscopy. It went really well but I thought I would be bleeding afterwards to get rid of the lining of the uterus. I am not bleeding which is really good but it is weird. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this.
I had the ablation due to heavy periods every month and it is suppose to stop my bleeding all together.
Hi, I had an ablation done and my tubes cauterized also due to heavy periods and lots of cramping. I bled for ablout 6 weeks although i think I got my period in that time too. My bleeding eventually just got to be very light and tinged mucus. I do still have periods though. They are very light - no more than a thin pad or panty liner. Also hardly any cramping. The only other difference I notice is that I now spot when I ovulate. I never did that before. In April it will be a year for me and each month has been different so far. This past month was the lightest ever so maybe they will eventually stop altogether. I don't know if it's normal to not have a discharge after a procedure like this. They told me it was normal TO have a discharge. Maybe you could just put a phone call in to your doctor?

severe endometriosis too. I don't know if they will do anything for that. Anyways my Gyn told me that I would bleed and it would be clotty and dark red, almost black. I was due for my period the day I had surgery but it is 6 days later and still no bleeding or anything. I am happy but wondering if the surgery worked. I go in on Monday for a check-up and to get my two stitches removed. So are you happy with your results? I will be fine even if I get my period as long as it is controllable. I'm not sure what kind they did, but it sounded kind of like the thermachoice that I've read about because he said the procedure was to fill a balloon with really hot sterile water insided the uterus and it burns the lining of the uterus therefore damaging it. He told me I could only have it done once in my lifetime because of the burning of the uterine walls. If they ever did it again there would be a significant risk of rupturing the walls. I also had a lap done to check for endo. The only thing they found was varicose veins the size of the doctors thumbs. Huge, he said and probably causes some of the pain I was feeling when on my feet or doing lots of walking. When I go for my one year checkup I am going to ask him if there is anything they can do about the veins or if they pose any danger. He didn't seem concerned at the time. I never had any dark red or almost black bleeding at all. It was mostly light pink and watery discharge. Nothing major. It just went on for at least a month. I am very happy with the results. No more running to the bathroom because it's running down my leg or a heating pad on my stomach for 2 days. I don't get any of the achiness in my pelvic area at all. Maybe your ablation was different. Did it involve burning the lining? I would be interested to know the difference if there is one.
Thanks for the reply. The ablation that I had done is supposedly the newest technique. It did involve burning the lining of the uterus but it was through energy and I guess it gets to all of the corners of the uterus so it is suppose to be very effective. My GYN was very confident that there would be no more bleeding. So far I am very pleased. I have had a little pink watery discharge but that only lasted for the first 6 days. Right now there has been nothing. I go in for my 2 week check-up on Monday so I will find out what all she did and if I need anything else for my endom. I hope not, I can deal with a little pain every month w/out any bleeding. I am glad to hear from someone else that has had an ablation. Thanks!!
