| Re: how long does spotting last?
That is completely normal and just one of those unpleasant side effects of the birth control pill. Give it a few months and see if your body gets used to it and it may stop. If it doesn't, call your doctor to see if he can switch brands or the dosage.
To be honest, though, I was on the pill for more than six months at a time and always had spotting after about the 10th day of starting a new pack right up until my regular period would start. Changed pills and didn't make any difference with me; some people just have more side effects than other.
But set your mind at ease, it's nothing to be that concerned about; it's more of a nusience than anything else.
