Long Period After D&C - Women's Health Message Board

I had a D&C a few weeks ago...everything went okay. I got my period (as scheduled) four days later, but it lasted 14 days (yikes!) Is this common after having a D&C for your period to be rather weird?

I would say if it's 14 days of heavy bleeding, no that's probably not normal. I had a D & C right when my period was due, and I got to skip it all together that month which was great! I only spotted a few days after the procedure.

But if you're heavy bleeding that long, I'd call the doctor. If it was just heavy for a few days and then a very light flow, I wouldn't worry about it unless it keeps continuing and doesn't stop. It may just be something as simple as your hormones being out of whack from stress. Good luck!
