Which hormone causes sore nipples?

Is it true that sore nipples are a PMS symptoms, as well as a pregnancy symptom?

Is it estrogen that causes sore nipples?

If I have been off the pill for about 7 weeks without a period and I am (hopefully) not pregnant, which hormone could be causing painful, sore nipples like this, if any?

Could I now have new PMS symptoms than I had before taking the pill?

I can't really remember what PMS signs I had before, but I don't think this was one of them.

Thanks for any answers to any of these questions.
