How old should you be when you start going to the gynocologist? I'm 19 and never been, but I'm wondering if I should go. Thanks!

I didn't go until I was 21. I have heard that once your period starts, you should go regularly (once a year).

You should go AT LEAST when you start having sex. Ideally, you should go for a baseline exam sooner than that.

You should start to go when you become sexually active.

I don't care what anyone says...ya shouldn't go until you think you may have a problem in that area of your body (i.e, STD, infection). It's not worth the embarrassment in my opinion to go and have them tell you you're okay.
