Im only 18 and about 3 months ago I went to the doctor with a concern about my periods. Everytime I am going to start my period I get really sick with really bad craps.

Sometimes there so bad I end up Puking.

This has happend so many times. When I went to the doctor She said I might have endometreosis. Well my qestion is, What is endometreosis and Does it sound like to any of you that I may have this. I Know that something need to be done cause I can't handle it. The doctor even put me on brith control pills(not because I was sexually active) but she thought that they might help me. Someone please help.

My understanding is that uterine tissue grows outside the uterus. Unfortunately the only way to diagnose it is with a lap, a small surgical procedure where they stick a camara through your belly button. If you want kids, it is important to get diagnosed early. I could be wrong but I thought the pill was bad for endometriosis because it feeds off estrogen?

Hi there. I've been told that the pill can help with the symptoms for some people with endometriosis (particularly when taken continuously) but ultimately they can't cure you, and may not work for anyone. I was on Yasmin, in hopes of helping with my similarly awful cramps, and it helped only SLIGHTLY. My doctor just switched me to Nuvaring, because he said that the steady flow of hormone might be more helpful to me, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. Although I haven't been diagnosed with endometriosis, since I was around 17 (I'm 24 now) I've had really painful cramps, sometimes to the extent that I haven't been able to get up in the morning. My doctor told me I have PMDD, since I also get emotionally messed up during that time, and the sad thing is, despite all of the pain, I'd rather get rid of the emotional symptoms first. Oh, isn't it fun being a woman?

i was just recently diagnosed with endo, i'm 22. have had painful periods since they have started, but i just thought that was normal. i went on birthcontrol to control cramps when i was in highschool but had so many side effects. but recently in the past 2 or 3 months i was getting cramping a lot, not just during my periods but basically all the time. i actually thought it was bladder infection and went to the clinic and took medicine for a UTI. but then my doc said it might just be a cyst rupturing and said if the pain comes back then to get an ultrasound. so the pain came back and turns out i have endo. i'm going for surgery sometime soon then they want to put me on BC but no way!!! i think the trick after surgey is they want to put you on BC to reduce estrogen and produce more pregesterone, and there are so many BC's out there. some that are low in estrogen and high in progesterone. There is NO WAY i'm going back on BC, so u'm gong to see a naturpathy soon.
