Could this be another ovarian cyst?? - Women's Health Message Board

Hi Everyone,

As you know a few months back I dealt with a 6cm cyst on my left ovarie that went away after my period, but then had a small cluster of cysts on the left ovarie. My OB was not concerned about the small cluster and felt that the lower left pain and all the other symptoms were caused by the 6cm cyst but not being caused by the small cluster of cysts. He wanted me to seek more medical attention.

So, I did and I was diagnosed with IBS, and at this point my left side is doing well. Still get some twinges sometimes but not as bad as previously. I am also schedueld for a colonoscopy next week, but I am going to have to cancel due to the fact I have a sinus infection that is now gone into my chest and is causing problems with my asthma.

Today, I have noticed pain in my lower right abdomen, pain when I move, sit down, I am gassy and the lower right side hurts with that, and the clincher...pain while trying to have sex !! Now I was passing it off as maybe a strain from my asthmatic cough. I have strained my self in the past with the cough, but it is usualy my back that would hurt or my chest, not my abdomen. Then it was time to take my BC pill and I noticed that I am due for my period in 1 week. Well, before I was diagnosed with the 6cm cyst on my left ovarie, I was dealing with the exact same symptoms ALSO 1 week before my period.

I told my husband if this persists I want him to take me to the ER, because I want a Transvaginal immediately...I don't want to have to wait after my next period.

I am realy hoping that I just strained myself, because if it is cysts again I will go crazy !!! How in the world can anyone live with this month to month?? It is bad enough I have to deal with bad periods, I don't want to deal with this every month too.

Hey there....what a mess!! It's possible it's a cyst I suppose...is it the right month for a right side ovulation? Or maybe something with the IBS? What are your symptoms for IBS, by the way? I keep getting pain in my right side where I always got the ovary pain, but now that I am more aware of my pelvic region, it seems to come more when I have gas or need to go to the bathroom...I wonder if I just have something else, too?? It's possible you strained something, but I'm not sure that would cause painful sex? maybe though. It could be a hormone thing...my doctors kept asking me if i had painful intercourse when I was going in for all the problems. Hmmm....keep us posted!

Hey There !!!!!

Well,I was in alot of pain last night and my husband wanted me to go to the hospital but I wouldn't. I wanted to wait and see. I tried getting in touch with my OB today but could not get through, so I called nmy GP.
They took me in right away. They said it is deffinatly cysts again. They don't think it is gastro at all. They are sending me for some tests tommorow and they mentioned that they think it is a good possibility that I have Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome ?? Don't know much about that.

All I do know is I can;t take it much longer and I want to feel better !!! The good news is they prescribed me pain killers .hehehehe

I tell yah....it sucks !!!!
Nikki, has the doctor mentioned to you about Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome?? You seemed to be going through alot of the nonsense that I am going through.

No, I don't think I have that myself - when I did research on ovarian cysts, I saw that a lot....just do a search for PCOS and you should get tons of information about it. It's no fun from what I remember reading....like any of it is, right??? except the pain killers, of course! :-) Good luck on getting to the bottom of it all!!

Hi,
A friend of mine has polycystic ovaries. She is on medication that helps many of her symptoms. Some of the other symtoms are: irregular cycles, lengthy heavy periods, overweight--difficulty in losing weight, excessive facial hair. Those are a few, but I know there are more. Hopefully medication will help you out. My friend also has a thyroid problem. Hopefully your doctor will check that out too. Good luck.
