last weekend i thought i was getting a yeast infection so i got some over the counter med. After a few days the itching got worse. then i started have pain in my lower tummy and back. so i went to the e.r. they did a pg and uti test both were neg. he said it was a yeast infection that the over the counter med would not take care of so he gave me Diflucan. that was on monday i still have the itching and now i have a pinkish discharge. and cramps. it is not time for my af. any info would be great.

A friend of mine had the same symptoms your having. I should ask first if your sexually active because while she was having itching she thought it too was a yeast infection until she started getting cramps in her stomach. She thought is was her period, but after a week of not having her period and having the cramps she eventually went to her gyno. He gave her a papsmear and ran some tests and it came back that she had Chlamydia. I know it sounds HORRIBLE, but this is an STD that can be treated. They gave her a week of meds she had to take 3 times a day and she was fine from then on.
